Poets, writers, and artists have always had a profound relationship with technology, often being some of the first members of society to imagine, interpret, and harness new technological advancements in their work. They are pioneers and explorers who delineate and anticipate the human impacts of new technologies on the world.
Despite this, most creatives are not technologists themselves, forcing them to adapt & wrestle with emerging technologies and tools built without the creative user in mind. And our software suffers for it: much of it is a struggle to use. And technical capabilities don’t get utilized because of the way the interface/control systems of these tools are designed.
By bringing together creatives & technologists, Cōem intends to change this relationship, unlocking new possibilities & avenues for technical development.
As part of our core mission, we believe that building our own creative technologies (especially in emerging areas such as machine learning, Natural Language processing (NLP), augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing) will help our projects break new artistic ground as well.

POETICA
Poetica is a Natural language processing (NLP) & Machine-learning (ML) based toolset that synchronizes, visualizes and lets creators manipulate the audio timings of a reading for a given text.
Currently in beta, future versions of Poetica will allow the manipulation of multiple voices, and the addition of various time, space and visual effects that take advantage of such things as style transfer and other programmatic techniques.
